Consensys EMG Development Kits

Overview

The Shimmer3R Consensys EMG Development Kit monitors two channels of non-invasive surface EMG, giving a representation of muscle activity at the measurement site. The same unit can also be configured to record ECG, although EMG and ECG cannot be measured at the same time from a single unit. Integrated altimeter and 9 DoF inertial sensing add context about the wearer's movement, and data can be streamed live over Bluetooth to ConsensysPRO or logged to the SD card.

Key features

Two-channel EMG

Measures two channels of surface EMG with a common reference electrode.

ECG mode

Can be reconfigured as a five-wire, four-lead ECG measuring bipolar limb leads and one of V1 to V6.

Motion context

Integrated altimeter and 9 DoF accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer, each with selectable range.

Configurable front end

Amplifier gain, data rate and right-leg drive for common-mode rejection are set in software.

On-chip checks

Lead-off detection, respiration demodulation and a test signal support validation.

Complete kit

Ships with straps, biophysical leads, electrodes and, for multi-unit kits, a charging base.
