Consensys ECG Development Kit

Overview

The Consensys ECG Development Kit is built around the Shimmer3R ECG unit, which records 4 channels of ECG from a 5-wire lead set and can also be configured for 2 channels of surface EMG. ECG and EMG cannot be measured at the same time from a single unit. Each unit also carries 10 DoF inertial and altimeter sensing, so motion can be recorded alongside the biopotential signals. Kits are supplied with 1 to 15 units, with a USB-C cable for the single unit kit and a Consensys Base6 or Base15 dock for larger kits, plus straps, leads and electrodes.

Key features

Full ECG lead set

Five wire, four lead ECG measuring bipolar limb leads and a chest lead of the user's choice from V1 to V6.

EMG mode

Each unit can instead measure two channels of surface EMG with a common reference electrode.

Configurable front end

Amplifier gain, data rate and right-leg drive are all set in software.

On-chip extras

Respiration demodulation, lead-off detection and a test signal for validation are built into the front end.

Multi-unit management

The Consensys Base6 or Base15 dock charges, configures and offloads data from several units at once.
