Catalina

Overview

Catalina is the Gateworks single board computer family built on the NXP i.MX 95 processor, with six Cortex-A55 cores and an on-chip eIQ Neutron NPU for machine learning at the edge. The boards add 10 Gigabit Ethernet, flexible expansion sockets that take either Mini-PCIe or M.2 cards, and an industrial -40 to +85 °C rating. Gateworks designs and builds the boards in the USA and ships them with an Ubuntu Linux BSP.

Key features

On-chip NPU

The i.MX 95 includes an NXP eIQ Neutron NPU for running ML models locally.

10 Gigabit Ethernet

The GW9200 has a 10GbE port with TSN and the GW9400 has a 10GbE SFP+ cage for copper or fiber.

Flexible Socket Adapters

Each FSA site takes an adapter for M.2 E, B or M key cards, or a Mini-PCIe card, so radios and storage can be chosen per build.

Hardware security

A TPM 2.0 is fitted, with an optional NXP EdgeLock SE052F secure element (FIPS 140-3).

Wide DC input

Boards accept 8 to 60 VDC, or PoE through an optional adapter.

Industrial temperature

Rated for -40 to +85 °C operation.
